Every year a new challenge is released, and our designers begin prototyping a bot. Team members use computer aided design programs like Onshape and Solidworks to bring inspiration to life.

Challenge received, design in place, next up our mechanics begin building the year’s competition robot. Parts sourced from Gobuilda and Rev come together as a unique machine capable of crushing the competition.

No robot can enter the challenge arena without power. This team uses their essential wiring skills to bridge the components of our two suppliers into a seamless system of powerful drive motors, multi directional wheels, intake and shooter mechanisms.

Our coders work hard behind the scenes programming autonomous and tele-op modes. Java, Python, HTML, Pedro pathing, API, optical sensors, these are the tools that power our machine.

Every robot needs a boss. On competition day our four man drive teams are at center stage. A pair of drivers, a human player, and drive coach stay focused under pressure. Working with our alliance partners to execute play with an attitude of gracious professionalism….and a desire to win!

Not everything is about the nuts and bolts. We also inform our local communities of the amazing opportunities FIRST has to offer young people. Outreach and fundraising play a vital role in recruiting new members. A team portfolio is built to inform our judges about our building process, and each team member speaks to a panel of judges at competition describing their roles. Visiting local leaders in technology industries also gives our students insight into future career paths.
